Toronto. A famous catch phrase by the Great Yellow Father in Rochester NY was “A Kodak Moment” meaning a special happy family situation worthy of a photograph.
In this case, it means a 100+ year old Kodak camera worthy of a collection. The camera was made around 1895 when Kodak produced various plate sizes in a ‘satchel’ style. The item here is Lot 93 in our coming auction. The leather shows the usual dryness for its age and the rear ground glass is cracked. It appears to be a Kodak 4 (or perhaps 5). The Kodak 4 was made over the years 1890-97 with various lens/shutter combinations.
A camera worthy of a spot in your collection. The spring auction this year is an Estate Auction held on May 3rd. Details/poster are now pinned to this site. Come on out and spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon – free parking, free admission, friendly people.
