a reluctant clown …
Toronto. The photo at left is much too new to be collectible. In the 1970s/1980s the CNE offered to ‘paint’ a child’s face in a clown disguise (perhaps the CNE offered this feature in other years both earlier and later).
Collectors of old photos may have circus photos, perhaps in a subsection of their collection tagged as circus, clowns, wild animals, etc.
Our next fair is scheduled for next month and will be a great place to augment collections be they photos or the gear used to captured them.
NB. This post is titled by the Judy Collins song of the same name, sung here by the lady herself (and perhaps not about clowns at all). I heard the song years ago in a Yorkville eatery. My companions identified the song and its singer for me. Later I picked up the CD.
