If you have read any of the journals since about 1997, you know we are fortunate to have such a perfectionist in editor Bob Lansdale. He goes the extra mile to ensure each photo is printed correctly and that every selected photograph complements its article just so.

This edition is no exception. The lead article is John Kantymir’s Kodak No. 4, a folding Kodet Junior ably researched by another professional, Robert Wilson.

The journal continues with reviews of the Toronto meetings during the first four months of this year, plus a photo essay of the March auction. These reviews are followed by Mr Lansdale’s own article on Bill Tetlow, a press photographer like Bob Lansdale, in the 1950s and 60s era.

The Tetlow article is followed by a review of Memory Unearthed: The Lodz Ghetto Photographs of Henryk Ross, a book accompanying the current AGO exhibit of the AGO’s own portfolio of Henryk Ross images. This article was generously edited by Maia-Marie Sutnik of the AGO. And we were very fortunate to have a showing of the AGO images at our April meeting with a personal commentary by Michael Mitchell, one of the book’s authors.

As a finale, this issue covers part 2 of Snapshots with an Edge, by Ms Anna Krentz, last year’s thesis award winner and a delightful speaker at our image show last month. As usual, a news sheet and notices of up coming events were included as inserts adding another 8 pages to this 20 page journal, all without advertisements!
