I received an email from Jennifer Bedford of Cambridge Galleries, just a short drive west of Toronto. They are offering a course this spring in capture and creation of High Dynamic Range images. The instructor is well known photographer Tom Vogel. As you can see from Tom’s site, his work is superb! (It’s a Flash based site, so it loads slow, but is well worth the wait.)
Students must bring a digital SLR, laptop and tripod. The software used is Photomatix, which runs either standalone or as a plug-in for Lightroom, Photoshop, etc. It runs on Mac and Windows machines and can be downloaded as a free trial version. While our primary interest is with historic equipment, processes, and images, many of our members are professional photographers or active amateurs. Check out the links in this post for more details.
