Toronto. When I returned from Labrador, I expanded my working camera gear. Visiting a local shop, I was shown a new 6×9 SLR called the Rittreck IIa manufactured overseas by a small camera company in Japan called Musashino Koki (M.K.K.) at the time and later renamed Wista.
In the states, the Rittreck was sold by Seymour’s in NYC and rebadged as the Optika IIa. Seymour’s imported and marketed the camera taking out ads in the photography magazines of the day.
In our coming spring Estate auction on May 3rd, lot 28 is an Optika IIa with a 6×6 back and a 10.5cm f/3.5 lens. Come and see what else fits your collection. An earlier post pinned to this site until May 3rd can be seen here.
