Toronto. … as we float over Montreal by Helicopter about 55 or so years ago. This photo lacks some yellow giving this rather cold look. The photo of course is far too new to be a collectible in any case.
Collectors of old photographs might have old photos of aircraft and balloons in their collection, perhaps in a subsection of aircraft, transportion, etc.
From the beginning of photography in 1839, lighter than air balloons were in use. In fact the dust cover of the massive British revised edition (1969) of “The History of Photography” by the Gernsheims shows a sketch of Nadar floating over Paris as he snaps daguerreotypes.
And of course by the early 1900s we have heavier than air machines with the famous Kitty Hawk flight as well.
