The PHSC was formed in October 23, 1974 to advance the knowledge of and interest in the history of photography, particularly of photography in Canada. This web site was established in April 1996 to further our objectives via the rapidly expanding influence of the world wide web.

Part of the PHSC is the Canadian Stereoscopic Collection. Donations are always welcome. The CSC was established by Stan White, initially at Sheridan College, Oakville Campus. In the spring of 2007 the collection moved to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto as part of the gallery's photographic holdings. Contact Stan White for further information.
