Meetings begin at 7:00 pm every third Wednesday (except July and August) in the North York Central Library "Click for Map"Memorial Hall (Gold Room), 5120 Yonge at Park Home, North York, Ontario.

There is inexpensive parking underground off Park Home and ready access from the Yonge St TTC Subway at the North York Centre station.

Please check the home page announcement or the latest PHSC E-Mail Newsletter for notice of any meetings not held at the above venue. When meetings are held at other venues, the informal buy and sell session is cancelled.

Buy & sell sessions opens each meeting at 7:00 pm. Tables are available to members on a first come first served basis. The buy and sell seesions offer everything from the mundane to the rare. I once bought a rare Pantoscop lens by Emil Busch. The c1870 brass lens is the first true anastigmat wide angle lens design with a plate coverage of 80 degrees - equal to about a 24mm lens on a Leica.

Not Paved with Gold

Join our next meeting and bring something to swap or sell... but be ready to pick up something interesting for your collection too!

Presentations begin at 8:00 pm with the introduction of our speaker. Most talks are accompanied by sildes and last about 60 minutes followed by a question & answer seesion. The eclectic program of guest speakers covers topics of interest to photo historians as well as camera and image collectors.

Our monthly program is announced in advance on the web and in the PHSC E-Mail Newsletter (all issues are available on this site).

Past Programs are presented on the web and in our publications. Individual pages have been posted for most speakers back to October 1999. The table at the right gives a list of our speakers since September 1996 and links to further information.

Our society has always offered a good speaker program each year. Beginning September 1996, I have listed the speakers here on our web site. In October 1999, I started photographing most of our presentations using a digital camera and used some of the images along with my notes to make a summary page for each presentation.

You can click on the "Year" heading to see a page listing the entire program for that period along with a brief description of each talk. Most of the individual Speaker: Topic entries beginning with October 1999 have links to a full page of images and notes.

Our journal, Photographic Canadiana, and our free e-mail newsletter also provide information on the various presentations.
