Toronto. It was a great event last week when we auctioned the contents of the Yamada Photo Studio. Our thanks to all the people who came out to help and contribute to our ability to promote Canadian Photographic history. These shots are courtesy of Photographic Canadiana editor Bob Lansdale.
The auction was a busy event. After months of discussion and visits by various PHSC members, the auction suddenly came together and Clint had only one week to get out notifications to members and supporters of the PHSC.
The many Lot images shown a few days ago were taken by member Oscar Li using a Canon DSLR provided by Clint.
Before the auction started, Bob did a panorama showing some of the PHSC members who made it happen. You may recognize these members above – Wayne Gilbert (membership), Mark Singer (president), David Bridge (newsletter), Oscar Li (library) and Louise Freyburger (Facebook). Before this shot, the many items were organized for easier assessment by the prospective bidders.
PHSC president Mark Singer drove down from Orillia on the Friday. Here he inspects some of the darkroom gear offered in the auction.
And here are a trio of cameras sold at the event (David Bridge is at left). Thanks again to Bob Lansdale and all the other members and bidders who came out on such short notice to make this auction a success for the PHSC and the studio!
