Years \u00a0ago it was common practice to rebrand products from national factories for sale in large chain stores. Sears was no exception. Its line of cameras were branded &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/camerapedia.wikia.com\/wiki\/Sears\">Tower<\/a>&#8221; but actually made by mainstream companies in Europe and Japan with slight modifications to the originator&#8217;s other models.<\/p>\n<p>It was common practice as well to use leaf shutters and a removable front element to adjust a better quality camera&#8217;s focal length. <a href=\"http:\/\/camera-wiki.org\/wiki\/Steinheil\">Steinheil<\/a>, now long disappeared, made excellent quality photographic lenses last century.<\/p>\n<p>The body, lens and shutter choice suggests this particular camera was a product of Germany&#8217;s famous <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carl_Braun_Camera-Werk\">Braun<\/a> factory. \u00a0Confirmation and more historical details are most welcome &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:info@phsc.ca\">drop me a line<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto.
