Born in Wales, Mr James became the first <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/news\/toronto\/photo-laureate-geoffrey-james-on-his-new-title-selfie-sticks-and-a-dark-world\/article29576428\/\">Photo-laureate of Toronto<\/a>. The position began on March 31, 2016 and continues for three years. Mr James\u00a0is a self taught photographer and an alumni of Oxford in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight his topic is <em>My Toronto &#8211; <\/em>a fitting topic for our very first <a href=\"http:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/news\/2016\/02\/geoffrey-james-named-torontos-first-photo-laureate\">Photo Laureate<\/a>!
