Internet Mountains by Clive Holden<\/p><\/div>\n

Toronto<\/strong>. How long have we had digital photography and the internet? Decades? Well, someone had to use the new technology combined with the old to create modern day landscape images. Member Stephen Bulger is hosting an exhibit – his second – by photographer Clive Holden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The exhibit begins today with a reception from 2 – 5 pm for the artist. The exhibit will run to October 15th, 2016 at the Stephen Bulger Gallery<\/a>, 1026 Queen St West in Toronto.<\/p>\n

The announcement says in part, “INTERNET MOUNTAINS is a manifestation of Holden\u2019s interest in the mechanics of time and perception. Although these video and photo-based compositions are computer-rendered and manipulated, they fit \u2013 uncomfortably but recognizably \u2013 within the long tradition of landscape photography.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Holden\u2019s compositions explore concepts of scale, the relationships suggested by the implied permanence and impermanence of our world, the delivery of information, and the transformative effects of time on memory and geography. As such, Holden\u2019s work invites viewers to engage with his art in an instinctual way.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
