Toronto.<\/b> Laura sent me this announcement regarding a presentation she is offering at the Arts and Letters<\/a>\u00a0club, third floor on June 19, 2015. She has been a member of the PHSC over the years. At one time she operated the Baldwin Street Gallery.\u00a0Laura has spoken to members at our monthly meeting at least twice to my recollection. Drop in at the downtown Arts and Letters club and enjoy the opportunity to see her and the late John Phillips’ photographs and video of the 1960s civil rights movement in the States.<\/p>\n

Laura writes, “It is a\u00a0one evening event where I will be showing some of the PPC pictures. Here is the info: event at the Arts & Letters Club (address below) on June 19th. It is a private club, so you need to ring the bell for entry. You are most welcome to come.\u00a0I expect that you will enjoy the evening. And all PHSC members, families and friends are invited too.”

Friday, June 19 – The Art of Protest.\u00a0<\/b>Laura Jones and John Phillips (1945-2010) photographed the American civil rights movement in the 1960\u2019s. Recently, Laura and her sons and grandson visited Selma to mark the 50th anniversary of the events. Join Laura for a special night of remembrance, complete with original photos and the rough cut of a video documentary is in the studio on the third floor starting at 8:00 pm. ( First floor cash bar is open from 7:00 – 10:30. No tax or tipping at the bar.)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
