The &#8220;daguerreotype look&#8221; portrait at left was created by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rwphotographic.com\/Portraits\/thumbs\/\">Raina and Wilson Photographers<\/a> in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>She teaches Historic Photographic Processes with studio instruction in wet-collodion Ambrotypes, Cyanotypes and VanDyke prints at the Haliburton School of Arts, Fleming College. She has taught theory courses in the History of Photography at Sheridan College, and the International Academy of Design and Technology.<\/p>\n<p>Come on out and share an interesting evening with Ronit. The public is welcome. \u00a0Go to our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/phsc.ca\/camera\/?page_id=34\">Programs<\/a>\u00a0page for times and directions.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An avid collector, Ronit&#8217;s personal collection of historical daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes and stereographs, leans thematically towards humans and animal relationships. Ronit is currently working multimedia and video ventures as the newest phase in the evolving history of photography.<\/p>\n<p>Ronit&#8217;s visual presentation and lecture on ambrotypes will begin with a brief history of the wet-collodion and ambrotype process, and its social, economic, and historical role. She will go through the chemical process from start-to-finish, with imagery to display each step of the process. The lecture will highlight some contemporary ambrotypists, including <a href=\"http:\/\/sallymann.com\">Sally Mann<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There will be many physical examples of historic and contemporary ambrotypes that you will be able to see up close. There will be a brief outline on how to restore damaged ambrotypes and keep them preserved.
