In this issue, we announce our traditional Christmas program – an annual favourite. I spell off president Mark Singer with a summary of Ms Shannon Perry’s November talk.<\/p>\n

We cover a trio of new books published or about to be: Our past president Les Jones launches his Soccer Book – history with a Canadian emphasis; We sell PHSC Press’s first book (shown is author Dr Robert Wilson); and Larry Gubas announces his opus and third Zeiss book, this time on cameras. Larry is president of Zeiss Historica which is an exchange club with the PHSC.<\/p>\n

The odd looking gadget in the upper right is a “selfie” aid, attention-getter, or prompter as described in the “From the Net” column. Bob Lansdale describes his trip to France this past fall and in particular his photographing of Daguerre’s last known diorama during the annual meeting of the Daguerreian Society.<\/p>\n

Our secretary and awards chairman, John Morden presents this year’s Thesis Award to Ms Kate Addleman-Frankel<\/em> of Ryerson. Her thesis will appear in a later issue of Photographic Canadiana – watch for it! And this issue wraps up with some current events and want ads.<\/p>\n
