I spotted this \u00a0photography related item this morning \u00a0in a Globe<\/em> column called “Week in Preview<\/em>” under a heading “Visual Art<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Michel Campeau: Icons of Obsolescence<\/a> a<\/b>nd Robert Burley:\u00a0<\/b>The Disappearance of Darkness<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

“A double-barrelled blast about\u00a0the past – two powerful (and\u00a0complementary) colour photography\u00a0exhibitions at the National\u00a0Gallery<\/em><\/a> in Ottawa on the end\u00a0of the analog photography era\u00a0and the disappearance of so\u00a0much associated with it (i.e. film,\u00a0negatives, processing plants).<\/p>\n

“Campeau, a Montrealer, has been\u00a0taking digital pictures of darkrooms\u00a0since 2005, travelling ‘from Havana to Ho Chi Minh\u00a0City to Tokyo.’ Toronto’s Burley\u00a0has been just as peripatetic,\u00a0recording the demise of large scale\u00a0darkrooms and film-manufacturing\u00a0plants in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
