Toronto<\/strong>. In 1997, editor Bob Lansdale took the ‘bull by the horns’ and did his own photography of our events for the journal.<\/p>\n

This quartet of photos was featured in issue 23-1 to record the auction held that spring. In the journal, the cut line below the photo names the key people shown and the various items up for bidding or already won.<\/p>\n

The related article by editor Lansdale states. “The PHSC Annual Auction proved again to be a success with members as they bid\u00a0for the wide variety of items offered. Some of the items were donations to the Society\u00a0from which the monies, gained, will be applied toward bursaries and scholarships.<\/p>\n

“A short list of successful bids gives the following: Cambo camera 4×5 \u2013 $400; Imagon\u00a0portrait lens in shutter, 300mm \u2013 $410; enlarger 6×7 \u2013 $300; Nikon FE \u2013 $325; Rolleiflex \u2013\u00a0$375; Leitz projector \u2013 $250; Seneca camera 5×7 \u2013 $200; Drymount press 11×14 \u2013 $175;\u00a0Burke & James monorail camera 4×5 \u2013 $175; Hansa bellows for 35mm \u2013 $175; A box of film\u00a0holders \u2013 $160; Voigtlander Bessamatic\/case \u2013 $155; K20 Aerial camera \u2013 $120.”<\/p>\n
