This c1927 British field camera, &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/historiccamera.com\/cgi-bin\/librarium2\/pm.cgi?action=app_display&amp;app=datasheet&amp;app_id=2105\">The UNA Traveller<\/a>&#8216; is well named. The robust yet light construction meant it was reliable world wide &#8211; from jungle to desert to arctic.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 6\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>In his column for the early 2010 issue of <em>Photographic Canadiana, <\/em>John Kantymir\u00a0begins, &#8220;Long ago my father, Bill Kantymir, and I created a \u201c<em>Wish List<\/em>\u201d of cameras that were either historically significant or highly unusual \u2013 the Una camera is both.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is made of Duralumin which was developed for the skeleton framing of the Zeppelin air-ship where light\u00a0weight was a must. The camera was perfect for the tropics or anywhere \u2013 hence the name Traveller.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I purchased it overseas and believe it to be from the collection of Michael Auer. Its image can be seen in\u00a0his book.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>John&#8217;s story continues in issue 35-4 where members can read the rest of the column &#8211; or if members joined more recently, on their DVD (it covers <em>Photographic Canadiana<\/em> volumes 1 &#8211; 40).
