George Dunbar sends this remarkable photograph from the <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalarchive.tpl.ca\/\">archives<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torontopubliclibrary.ca\/\">Toronto Public Library<\/a>. The photo shows the old <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vintagemachinery.org\/mfgindex\/detail.aspx?id=5279&amp;tab=0\">Globe Foundry<\/a> on Queen Street West at about the address of the old Toronto City Hall (the <em>only<\/em> City Hall when I was a kid).<\/p>\n<p>George writes, &#8220;A wonderful street scene in Toronto.\u00a0This address must be the present location of The Old City Hall, built 1888\/1889.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Globe Foundry, Queen Street West, north side, between James &amp; Bay Streets 1882 &#8211; TPL&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Just another reminder that libraries and archives have a wealth of photographic history.
