In a recent email titled, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/photoed\/march-2023-1?e=24d8185979\">Fierce Female Photographers<\/a>&#8220;, Rita covers a lot of ground, including announcing our new Photo Laureate, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.redworks.ca\/info\/\">Nadya Kwandibens<\/a>&#8221; who was featured in the PhotoEd &#8220;COLLABORATIONS&#8221; issue.<\/p>\n<p>If you enjoy the works by female photographers, pop over to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CpQQCvUJL5O\/?hl=en\">our Instagram site<\/a> where Mina Markovic has been receiving accolades for her posts about female photographers such as the late<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catherine_Leroy\"> Catherine Leroy<\/a> of France. Of Leroy, Mina says in part, &#8216;In 1966, at the age of 21, with a Leica M2 and around $200 in her pocket, Parisian Catherine Leroy (1944-2006) bought a one way ticket to Vietnam. Despite having no previous experience as a photographer, Leroy sought to give the Vietnam War a &#8220;human face&#8221;. &#8230;&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The post title is that of a song, sung here by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sQ7duyw_Ml4\">Josh Turner<\/a>\u00a0for you Country &amp; Western music fans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto.
