Just over a century ago Steichen photographed the then recently completed &#8216;flatiron&#8217; b<\/em><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">uilding in NYC\u00a0<\/span><em>(so called from its shape &#8211; we have a similar building here). <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>According to the article,<\/em> &#8220;Edward Steichen\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metmuseum.org\/art\/collection\/search\/267803\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><em>The Flatiron<\/em><\/a>, an iconic photo of New York, has sold for $11.8 million, making it the second-most expensive photograph ever sold.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Apparently only three prints were ever made by Steichen. The tonality and mood of the print showed that photography could be used for artistic rendering.
