This building was one of the centres of photography in 19th century\u00a0Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the best known Anglophone photographers of the day\u00a0had studios on that corner\u00a0or within a few blocks. The events on Craig and Bleury,\u00a0some quite dramatic, were also\u00a0\u00a0well documented. Dr\u00a0Reichstein is a computer science professor\u00a0at Carleton in Ottawa. In his\u00a0spare time, he delves into Canadian photographic\u00a0history. <em>Photographic Canadiana\u00a0<\/em>has been graced with his studies on James\u00a0Inglis, on The Early Saronys and on The\u00a0Multigraph.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Reichstein will be honoured on the 20th with a\u00a0Research Grant for his continued research and\u00a0support of our journal.<\/p>\n<p>The public is always welcome. \u00a0Go to our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/phsc.ca\/camera\/?page_id=34\">Programs<\/a>\u00a0page for times and directions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEXT TORONTO MEETING: Wednesday, June 20th, 2012.
