It was the rather wholesome &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/library.ryerson.ca\/asc\/2013\/10\/the-kodak-girl-women-in-kodak-advertising\/\">Kodak Girl<\/a>&#8216; who became the central person in the \u00a0Kodak ads of the era. She illustrated how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lensculture.com\/articles\/martha-cooper-kodak-girl#slideshow\">women could succeed in photography<\/a> simply by using Kodak products, especially the Kodak camera.<\/p>\n<p>Decades later, this ad was used to promote Kodak <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kodacolor_(still_photography)\">Kodacolor-X negative color film<\/a> in \u00a0the Instamatic format. The famous Kodak Girl seems to be a doll sitting on a tiny chair showing the subtle colour shades and picture detail obtained with Kodak products.<\/p>\n<p>My thanks to good friend George Dunbar who spotted this unique Kodak ad on page 9 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.ca\/books?id=oFMEAAAAMBAJ&amp;printsec=frontcover&amp;source=gbs_ge_summary_r&amp;cad=0#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false\">LIFE 1970&#8217;s special Christmas issue<\/a>\u00a0while busy sourcing items of photographic history as represented by advertisements and articles in LIFE magazine..<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
