Stefan Musil of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ostlicht.at\/en\/\">Ostlicht Gallery<\/a> for Photography sent out an email on the 25th to announce that the gallery will host an exhibition of American \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Julian_Schnabel\">Julian Schnabel&#8217;s<\/a> Polaroids this summer from June 7, 2018 to August 4, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Julian&#8217;s work was on diplay here in Toronto at the AGO in 2010. If you are planning to visit Vienna this summer, be sure to drop by the Ostlicht Gallery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.julianschnabel.com\">Julian<\/a> says in part, &#8220;I never intended to show the pictures I took. The Polaroids are documents of places I built, sculptures I made, people I know, the process of painting. I used the camera as a medium.\u00a0 Because\u00a0of the camera I had the experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anomalies, idiosyncrasies, light leaks and accidents form the character of these photographs \u2013 I just happen to press the button. Using this camera is like riding a good horse, you just hold onto the reins and let her run.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u2019t have a camera.\u00a0 I don\u2019t walk around taking photos.
