Her concepts are focused on our relationship to nature and where we find ourselves within that relationship during a period of rapid ecological change.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20775\"><span id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20779\">&#8220;Recognized for her ethereal underwater images, <a href=\"http:\/\/phsc.ca\/camera\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Meaghan_Ogilvie.jpg\">Meaghan Ogilvie<\/a><\/span><span id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20774\">\u00a0is the recipient of awards and recognitions from across North America and internationally as a shortlisted photographer in the Sony World Photography Awards, being selected from 62,654 photographs entered from 170 countries worldwide (2013). Most recently, Ogilvie was awarded first place in<\/span><span id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20777\">\u00a0the creative category at the Cairns Underwater Film Festival Photography Competition in Australia. <\/span>The event raised over $20,000 that went\u00a0towards ocean conservation efforts.\u00a0Her award included a diving trip to Palau sponsored by Sam\u2019s Tours, a\u00a0PADI Five Star National Geographic location.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20794\"><span id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20796\">&#8220;After earning her diploma in photography at Sheridan College (2003), Ogilvie interned at <em id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20798\">Toronto Life Magazine,\u00a0<\/em>worked as a Photo Editor for Wire and Getty Images at both the Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals and managed a commercial photography studio in Toronto. Ogilvie continued her studies\u00a0after she was selected for an art residency with the\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"yui_3_17_2_2_1432141965383_20800\">School of Visual Arts in New York City for the\u00a0Still and Moving Imaging Program (2011). Her exhibition <a href=\"http:\/\/www.requiemofwater.com\/\">REQUIEM OF WATER<\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>for<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto2015.org\/panamania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> PANAMANIA<\/a>, presented by CIBC was her first solo exhibition and had its world premiere in the Allen Lambert Galleria, Brookfield Place, Toronto on July 13 to August 14, 2015.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Sandra Joyce<\/strong> is a three time author and has been an advocate of British Home Children since discovering in 2004 that her father and her uncle were sent to Canada as part of this Child Migrant Scheme. She has given up to 200 presentations on the subject all across Canada and in the US.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She was instrumental in the British Home Children receiving an official Apology in the House of Commons on Feb. 16,2017.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A native Torontonian, she studied Journalism at Ryerson University. During her tenure at CBS Records, she was an award-winning publicist.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She was also a contractor negotiator for the German Department of Defence.\u00a0After her return to Canada, she became a consultant for an independent music company, an English teacher and a storyteller.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Note that the aunt of cousins of my wife was a home child. \u00a0On her <a href=\"http:\/\/phsc.ca\/camera\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Hughston-James-Roy-Clark-Rose-Wedding-Record.jpg\">wedding certificate<\/a> in 1921 under name of bride&#8217;s father and mother was written, &#8220;<em>Barnado Home Girl. So does not know parents&#8217; names<\/em>&#8221; which of course was thoroughly mangled by the person who indexed the wedding certificate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Toronto.
