PHSC Member Ed Warner who is a past president of the PHSC, is now editor of Yesterday’s Tools the official journal of the Tool Group of Canada. The Tool Group of Canada was established about 30 years ago for collectors who specialize in the tools used by the craftsmen of days gone by.
To many of us, a camera is a collectible but it is also a tool used by a professional photographer. Hence a few members of the PHSC are also members of the Tool Group. When he was alive, both my dad and I were members. His interest was mechanics’ tools – the wrenches, tire jacks and other tools used by the automobile mechanic while I was interested in old wood-working tools. Over the years that I was a members of both groups, I attended the occasional Tools of the Trade show where I saw many kinds of tools including cameras and microscopes, not just hand tools.
