Vancouver. Our sister organization on the west coast is busy getting ready for their camera show tomorrow. The show was announced in their November newsletter which is attached here.

The newsletter offers  two articles along with some association information: First is The Making of Albumenized Paper, a paper treatment used in the later 1800s to prepare paper for photographic emulsion. A second article for camera collectors discusses the famous Rollei lookalike TLR, the Minolta Autocord ( you do know that Minolta folded into Konica which was absorbed by Sony and lives on today as Sony’s main DSLR line).

Check out the Scientific Auction for cameras and lenses

Toronto. From time to time Skinner in Boston and Marlborough MA send me an email about up and coming auctions. Saturday (November 1, 2014) there is an auction covering Clocks, Watches, and Scientific Instruments. Included in this listing are cameras and lenses which are grouped with Scientific Instruments. There are a few Leica/Leitz items that seem a bit the worse for wear and priced accordingly.

In any case, have look at Skinner’s lovely online catalogues.

The Fall Fair is Over Now

Enerance to our Fall Show

Entrance to our Fall Show

Toronto. A hectic few days resulted in a smooth transfer from the Soccer Centre, our home for the past few years, to the Trident Hall, our new home for the foreseeable future. Mark Singer bought and installed one ramp for our exhibitors and the tables were rearranged to fit three rooms.

Our space in the Hall is a bit smaller than in the Soccer Centre making it essential for exhibitors to pay in advance. Fortunately PayPal can be used for convenience.

I didn’t get around to photographing the three rooms until close of day. When the next newsletter comes out you can see the show at its peak. When I first arrived, an hour after opening, it was busier that I have seen since the days at the Lions Centre on the Queensway at Kipling. The aisles were packed with excited attendees all looking for a bargain.

Be sure to look at the photos in our November newsletter and join the excitement at our spring show.
